While there's no news yet on how many points will be required to stay at the new all-inclusive properties joining the Hyatt brand - including Secrets, Dreams, Breathless, Zoetry, Sunscape and Alua Resorts - we'd be lying if we said we weren't excited at the idea of cashing in Hyatt points for an all-inclusive stay someplace like Corfu or Ibiza soon. And whether you're a fan of all-inclusive resorts or not, it's hard to deny the appeal of the points redemption doors opening to World of Hyatt members soon with the recent news of Hyatt buying up 100 all-inclusive properties. there are inexpensive and good small restaurants where Costa Ricans eat.Options are good to have. There are excellent restaurants of all types wherever you go in Costa Rica so that's not really a problem. I would look at the Marriott properties and forget the AI designation. Islita has also done a lot of work with the local community. Fantastically beautiful area and Playa Samara and Playa Carrillo easily accessible. Punta Islita is also a great property - don't know if it's AI. Really beautiful property on a fantastic beach and easily accessible to other little beach towns and activities. On the plus side, the Westin at Playa Conchal is probably the best AI in the country. So not really feasible to spend much time in the Arenal area or Monteverde or visit many of the great activities in Guanacaste. Otherwise, they are spread up and down the Pacific coast. And I don't know if any of these are all-inclusive. There are several Marriotts in the San Jose area but I never recommend spending time in San Jose when there is SO MUCH to see and do, other than a crowded city. But doesn't include breakfast - at $15, now you've either got to look at finding breakfast off-site or losing part of your "free stay." It is very convenient for your first/last night. The Marriott by SJO airport is a nice hotel. If you sat down and said, "Hey, these are the places I'm interested in going!" It might not mesh Marriott properties in Costa Rica. That being said, you are offsetting the cost of your vacation by severely limiting the areas where you can stay. Other hotels are less remote and more accessible to off-property activities without long travel times At the Dreams, for instance, you would have to travel at least an hour to get to various activities.
